I completed this experience in the fall of 2023. I was able to work with a philosophy and psychology professor at the university to gain insight on personality and personage as a whole. I orginally went along with the philosophy side of things because I wanted to understand more about why a personality detates how a person acts and follows their moral and values. In order for me to find that information out, I needed to get in contact with a psychology professor that told more about how personality and the identity was formed. Having a base understand on how the identity was formed helped me lead more to my goal of understanding people so I can have empathy to everyone I meet. I want to understand people the best way I can so I can make them feel included. Getting to know the scientific information behind helped me scope to a more personal look at it. I ended creating 2 podcast episodes that was 30 minutes in length because one of the episodes was covering the information from the interviews I got from the professors and academic resources I looked at. The second one was about me talking to 4 people with different personalities to see if they could find a way to explain their identity and what makes them them. I found that at the end, I was able to understand their values using philosophical principals. I plan to continue this research with my philosophy capstone but expand more into the philosophical side on how values and ethics are determined by the circumstances around them and not their internal factors.
